Former RiverHawk James traded
« Back

March 12, 2009 - Former RiverHawks pitcher Frank James is headed north of the border.

James was acquired by the Calgary Vipers of the independent Golden League from the San Angelo Colts in exchange for a player to be named later. With the demise of the independent United League, the Colts will enter the Continental League.

James was 7-5 with a 5.28 earned-run average in 19 appearances for the Colts last year.

James has two stints with the RiverHawks, 2003-04 and the second half of 2005. He was 7-3 with a 2.65 ERA for the pennant-winning '04 RiverHawks. He also had two stints with the Colts.

James is among the more well-travelled indy ballers. He has played for six teams and the GL will be his fifth indy league. He played for the Vipers when they were members of the Northern League in 2006.
