Former RiverHawks in Australian national tournament
« Back

January 2, 2009 - Former RiverHawks Brad Dutton and Dan Floyd are back in their native Australia competing in the Claxton Shield, the national baseball tournament.

Dutton, once again at shortstop for his native Queensland, is hitting .390, the fifth-best average in the tournament, with seven RBI through 11 games. Dutton played for the RiverHawks in 2006-08 and was fifth on the team's all-time hits list when he was traded to Gary of the independent Northern League following last season.

Floyd, an outfielder, is hitting .286 with three RBI for defending champion Perth, which represents Western Australia. He was a utility infielder in 2003-04 for the RiverHawks and missed significant time because of injury in each season.
