Six degrees of separation for RiverHawks in World Series
« Back

October 30, 2008 - Less than six degrees, as it turns out.

Philadelphia completed a five-game World Series victory on Wednesday with a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay in the conclusion of a game suspended because of rain on Monday. The Phillies' shortstop, 2007 National League Most Valuable Player Jimmy Rollins, is the older brother of outfielder Antwan Rollins, who played for the RiverHawks in 2002.

Tampa Bay left fielder Carl Crawford patrolled the outfield at the Rays' Double-A Orlando affiliate in 2001 with Tony Pigott, who played center field for Rockford in 2002-03 and currently lives in Rockford.
