Former RiverHawk McEachran traded

January 16, 2008 - Former RiverHawk Aaron McEachran has been sent to his fourth team in less than a year.

Tuesday, the Pensacola Pellicans of the independent American Association picked up McEachran and pitcher Ben Moore from Winnipeg of the Northern League in exchange for infielder Trino Aguilar.

McEachran, a former Toronto farmhand, split last year among the three Canadian teams then in the Northern League - Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. He hit a composite .258 with four home runs and 35 RBI.

McEachran, a Minnesota native drafted in the 18th round by the Blue Jays in 2001, has spent most of his career north of the border. He has played for three of the five professional baseball currently in Canada, and broke into pro ball with the Medicine Hat Blue Jays in 2001. That team has since moved to Helena, Mont.

McEachran, who played for the team in 2004-05, is in the top five among the team's all-time hitting, home-run and RBI leaders.
