November 20, 2007 - The Florida Marlins have picked up Windy City pitcher Shawn Phillips.
Phillips was 8-4 with a 2.45 ERA. He struck out 100 and walked just 12. In the postseason, he shut out the RiverHawks in the first round and won the deciding fifth game of the finals against Washington. Phillips, a former Texas farmhand, spent part of 2006 with River City.
