July 29, 2011 - WASHINGTON, Pa. – Chris Sidick had three hits, including a milestone, among a 19-hit Washington attack as the Wild Things beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 12-7, on Friday at Consol Energy Park.

Sidick, a six-year veteran who has spent his entire career with Washington, singled in a run in the seventh inning and became the first player in Frontier League history with 600 hits. Sidick, the Washington leadoff batter, was 3-for-3 with two walks and a sacrifice.

Washington scored twice in the first inning and led the rest of the night. Sidick led off with a double, advanced on a fly to right field and scored on Scott Lawson’s single to center field. Tim Battle later singled in Lawson.

The Wild Things scored three times in the second inning and Luis Rivera hit a three-run homer in the fourth to give Washington an 8-1 lead and knock out Rockford starter Alex Szymanski (4-3).

Washington starter Justin Edwards (3-2) staggered through a nine-batter, four-run Rockford fifth inning and barely qualified for the win. The first five batters hit safely. Greg Van Horn doubled in a run, Jake Eigsti hit a RBI single and Jason James doubled off the fence in right field for another run. Eigsti scored on a groundout.
