June 26, 2011 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks' battery was fully charged on Sunday.

Pitchers Matt Zoltak and Brett Durand combined on a four-hitter and catcher Carlos Dominguez hit a home run as the RiverHawks beat the Joliet Slammers, 4-1, in front of 1,982 at Road Ranger Stadium.

Bobby Leeper led off the game with a home run, but Zoltak retired the next 17 batters in order and only one Joliet runner reached scoring position the rest of the game. Zoltak (2-1) struck out nine without a walk and scattered three hits.

The RiverHawks rallied for three runs in the fourth inning on Dominguez’ home run. Jeremy Hamilton led off with an infield hit. With two outs, Cam Satterwhite reached on catcher’s interference and Dominguez followed with a drive to left field off Joliet starter Brian Fowler.

Dominguez led off the seventh inning with a single and scored on a two-out error.

Fowler (1-1) took the loss, but did not give up an earned run in 6 1/3 innings of work.

Durand pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his sixth save.

The RiverHawks beat Joliet for the first time in five meetings this year.
