May 31, 2011 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are hosting a Field Training Day at Road Ranger Stadium on Thursday, June 16 before their game against the Lake Erie Crushers at 7:05 p.m. Rockford’s only professional baseball team announced Tuesday it’s teaming up with Conserv FS, Inc. to give people the opportunity to learn how to prepare the field for a professional baseball game.
Registration will go from 1:30-2 p.m., with field demonstrations beginning immediately following until 5 p.m. From 5-5:30 p.m., participants will help the RiverHawks’ grounds crew prepare the field for the game.
The Field Training Day costs $45 per person, but it is only $39 per person for a group of two or more. Conserv FS is also inviting all participants to stay for dinner and the game. Dinner will go from 6-7 p.m., and attendees will have the chance to network with colleagues and other local area field maintenance experts.
