O’Sullivan homers as RiverHawks win, 8-3

July 2, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks banged out a season-high 19 hits, including a home run by Patrick O’Sullivan, and beat the Schaumburg Flyers, 8-3, on Friday.

Five Rockford batters had three hits each, in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 4,913, the largest of the year at Road Ranger Stadium. O’Sullivan was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Kevin House, Jason James and Ian Church were also 3-for-5 and Evan McArthur was 3-for-4.

Rockford built an early 8-0 lead to drive Schaumburg starter Todd Moser from the game. House led off the first inning with a single and scored on a wild pitch. In the second inning, Jono Brooks and House had RBI singles. In the third inning, the first six batters reached safely – three scored. In the fourth inning, James led off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly. O’Sullivan drove Moser (1-5) from the mound with his seventh homer.

Rockford starter Roger Lincoln (3-3) gave up three runs in the fifth inning, but lasted six innings for the win.

Lake County makes its first visit at 6:05 p.m. Saturday. It’s Gerber Collision & Glass All-Star Giveaway Night. It’s also Roxie Carmichael Ladies Night.
