June 25, 2010 - WINNIPEG, Manitoba – The Winnipeg Goldeyes saw the Rockford RiverHawks’ eighth inning and raised them.

The RiverHawks rallied for two runs and the lead in the top of the eighth. In the bottom of the inning, the Goldeyes rallied for three two-out runs and beat the RiverHawks, 5-3.

Rockford lost for just the fourth time in its last 12 games.

The RiverHawks, who failed to take an advantage of a bases-loaded, one-out opportunity in the seventh inning, took a 3-2 lead with a rally against the Winnipeg bullpen in the eighth. Travis Scott led off with a double off Zach Baldwin. Phillip Roy relieved Baldwin and, after Scott advanced to third on a flyout, intentionally walked Rich Austin. Roy then made a wild attempt to pick Austin off first base. The error brought home Scott and moved Austin to third base. Jake Eigsti doubled home Austin and was thrown out going for third base.

In the bottom of the eighth, Rockford starter Kyle Ruwe departed after a leadoff single by Aharon Eggleston. Reliever Brandon Todd retired the following two batters, but surrendered a Justin Justice single. Jon Huizinga came out of the Rockford bullpen and gave up back-to-back RBI singles to Vince Harrison and Dee Brown as the Goldeyes regained the lead. An intentional walk loaded the bases and a pitch that hit Price Kendall brought in the third run.

Roy (2-1) got the victory. Todd (0-3) took the loss. Former Arizona Diamondback Bobby Korecky retired the side in order to pick up his fourth save.

The series continues at 6 p.m. Saturday. The game is scheduled for broadcast, possibly joined in progress.
