June 4, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Fargo-Moorhead put on a power display Friday night at Road Ranger Stadium.

The defending the Northern League champions torched Rockford pitching for seven home runs, three by Eric Campbell. Campbell was 4-for-4 to lead the RedHawks’ 12-4 rout of the RiverHawks.

Mike Wood (0-2) started the game for Rockford and gave up a two-out solo home run to Nic Jackson before he left because of a strained right pectoral muscle after one inning, in front of 3,323, the RiverHawks’ first sellout crowd of the year.

Cory Patton led off the top of the second inning, and doubled to right-center field off Justin Knoff. Eric Campbell followed suit with his first home run and gave Fargo a 3-0 lead. Jay Cox walked, and then Carlo Cota hit a two-run homer to make it 5-0.

Nic Jackson and Jesse Hoorelbeke led off the top of the third with back to back home runs. Jackson’s was his second in as many at-bats. Patton doubled to right, and Campbell followed with his second home run to make it 9-0 Fargo. Chris Pfalzgraf relieved Knoff, and stabilized the RedHawks offense.

Jason James put Rockford on the board with a solo-shot to lead off the fourth, to cut the deficit to 9-1. The RiverHawks inched closer on James’ bloop single to left to score Evan McArthur to make the score 9-2.

The home-run parade resumed in the seventh for Fargo. Eric Campbell homered off Alex Thieroff to push the Fargo lead to 10-2. Fargo added another run when Jay Cox and scored on a ground-rule double by Mike Coles, and led 11-2 after seven innings.

Randall Simon hit his first home run at Road Ranger Stadium in the bottom of the eighth, a two-run shot, to pull Rockford within seven.

Fargo starter Scott Fogelson (3-0) struck out eight over five innings to earn the win.
