June 2, 2010 - JOLIET, Ill. – Joliet went deep three times on Wednesday as the Jackhammers handed the Rockford RiverHawks their fourth straight loss, 10-2, at Silver Cross Field.

Freddie Thon, Jon Nelson and Kevin Rios each homered off Rockford starter Roger Lincoln. Nelson has homered off Rockford pitching each of the first three contests of the four-game series.

Joliet starter Ross Stout remained unbeaten lifetime against the RiverHawks with seven shutout innings. Stout (1-1) scattered six hits, struck out five and walked one. Stout, who spent 2008-09 with Windy City in the Frontier League, the RiverHawks’ former home, is 5-0 in six career starts against the RiverHawks.

Stout had a lead to work with after a four-run Joliet first inning. After a walk and an error on a play at first base that resulted in the ejection of manager Bob Koopmann by umpire John Argus, Brad Correll singled in a run. Thon followed with a three-run homer to left-center field.

Nelson homered with a man aboard in the sixth inning and Rios drove Lincoln (1-1) from the mound with a two-run shot to left in the seventh.

Rockford right fielder Rich Austin was 1-for-3 and extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

The series finale is at 7:10 p.m. Thursday. The RiverHawks are home at 7:05 p.m. Friday for a game against Fargo-Moorhead.
