September 4, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Jason James singled in the tying and go-ahead runs and Brett Durand earned his 10th win of the season on Friday as the RiverHawks rallied late to beat Windy City, 3-2.

Durand (10-6) struck out eight over eight innings. He gave up two runs on nine hits. Durand and Kyle Wright (10-5), Saturday’s scheduled starter, give the RiverHawks a pair of 10-game winners for the first time in the team’s eight-year history.

The RiverHawks rallied in the seventh inning from a 2-1 deficit. Ricky Meinhold walked Jono Brooks and Caleb Fields. Doug Sanders sacrificed to advance the runners. James bounced a single to right field to drive in both runners and knock out Meinhold (4-3).

Fields hit his seventh home run of the year, his fourth in four games, in the first inning for Rockford. Robert Perry led off the Windy City fourth inning with a home run.

Tyler Pearson pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save.

The season-ending series continues at 6:05 p.m. Saturday. The first 1,000 receive a RiverHawks long-sleeve T-shirt, courtesy of Axberg Heating.
