'Hawks trade for Otters' All-Star; Enderle to DL

August 7, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – On Friday, the Rockford RiverHawks acquired infielder Javier Brown of the Evansville Otters in exchange for two players to be named later. Pitcher Matt Enderle was placed on the 14-day DL.


Brown, a 2009 Frontier League All-Star, batted .296 with two home runs and 19 RBI in 65 games with the Otters. In 2008, he was signed by the Minnesota Twins and played with their rookie club in the Gulf Coast League.

Enderle, a native of South Beloit, Ill., has appeared in 16 games. He posted a 1-2 record with a 4.15 ERA with three starts. He was diagnosed with left triceps tendinitis.

The RiverHawks will name two players to be sent to Evansville at the conclusion of the 2009 season.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season this summer.
