May 29, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks have placed left-handed pitcher Fabian Gomez on the 15-day disabled list and activated outfielder Matt Mazurek.
Gomez has broken the ring finger on his pitching hand and is expected to miss at least three weeks. He was 0-1 with a 2.45 earned-run average in three appearances.
Mazurek missed the start of the season while recovering from surgery to repair a ligament tear in his right wrist. Mazurek hit .270 with a home run and 30 RBI for the RiverHawks last year.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 17th season.
