March 16, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Bobblehead doll collectors have their dream ticket plan this season.

The Rockford RiverHawks unveiled on Monday the three bobblehead doll designs on the Big Ticket five-game plan. Former Chicago Cubs Mark Grace,Andre Dawson and Sammy Sosa are the featured players on the three bobblehead doll nights.

The Big Ticket costs just $40 for outfield box seats, $50 for infield and $60 for home plate. It guarantees fans the same great seat for all five nights.

The Grace bobblehead is scheduled for May 30, Dawson for July 18 and Sosa for Aug. 29. The plan also includes Opening Night (May 26) and Fan Appreciation Night (Sept. 3).

“Every night on this plan was a sellout last season,” said Marshall Mackinder, RiverHawks assistant general manager for marketing and promotions. “We had such a great turnout, we decided to do more. If you missed out of the opportunity last year, you’ve got a chance to get three more of the greatest Cubs of all time.”

Grace was a longtime Cubs first baseman and a three-time National League All-Star. The career .300 hitter was part of Arizona’s World Series winner in 2001.

Dawson, who spent 21 years in the majors with Montreal, Chicago, Boston and Florida, may be best known for his six years on the North Side. Dawson won the 1987 NL Most Valuable Player award while with the Cubs, 10 years after he took Rookie of the Year honors while with the Expos. Dawson has narrowly missed election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame each of the last two years.

Sosa straddled the line between history-making hitting and pop-culture icon around the turn of the millennium. Sosa is the only player in history to have three 60-home run seasons. He is sixth on the all-time homer list, at 609. At the peak of his 18-year career, the power hitter pitched everything from soft drinks to video games.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season this summer. The RiverHawks will begin their eighth season at 7:05 p.m. May 21 at Windy City and play their home opener at 7:05 p.m. May 26 against the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti. The RiverHawks host the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. on July 15. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255.
