RiverHawks open eBay store

October 24, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Rockford RiverHawks merchandise is now available in the team’s online store at eBay.

The team is in the process of moving its online merchandise sales to the online auction/sales site. Both auction and Buy It Now listings are available. All merchandise currently available through the brick-and-mortar store will be available at a set price through the latter option. Auctions will be for premium items, such as game-worn jerseys and other scarce and unique memorabilia.

“Making this move will allow us to keep offering our current inventory in a similar way, while adding new features to distribute premium items to our fans and memorabilia collectors,” general manager Josh Olerud said.

The site is still under construction. It launched Friday with an auction for a game-worn jersey used by two-time Frontier League All-Star Jason James, former Chicago White Sox farmhand Mike Landry and former shortstop Mark Garner. New items will be added on a regular basis.

The team store’s web address is http://stores.ebay.com/Rockford-RiverHawks-Team-Store>http://stores.ebay.com/Rockford-RiverHawks-Team-Store.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season in 2009. The RiverHawks will begin their eighth season in May and host the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. on July 15. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
