August 7, 2008 - WASHINGTON, Pa. – Jono Brooks homered for the second night in a row and the Rockford RiverHawks came away with another win.
Brooks broke a scoreless tie with a third-inning home run on Thursday and the RiverHawks beat Washington, 3-2. The RiverHawks won the last two games of the three-game trip to Washington and have won five of their last six games.
Rockford scored twice in the third and once in the fourth. Brooks was 2-for-3 with a double and scored on an error in the fourth as the RiverHawks took a 3-0 lead.
Gerard Haran hit a two-run homer for the Wild Things in the bottom of the fourth.
Rockford starter Mike McTamney (1-0) gave up five hits over seven innings and struck out seven for the win. James Cramphin pitched the ninth inning to earn his sixth save.
Brooks Dunn (1-4) gave up just four hits over 7 2/3 innings, but took the loss.
The RiverHawks come home for a six-night homestand that starts with a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader against Midwest on Friday. The FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks Series will take place between games of the doubleheader.
