January 29, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks’ active wins leader is among three pitchers on whom the team exercised its 2008 option.
The RiverHawks announced Tuesday that it has re-signed pitchers Garrett Bauer, James Cramphin and Roy Bringleson.
Bauer, a former Arizona farmhand, has won 13 games in two seasons with Rockford and started the 2006 Frontier League all-star game. Last season, the southpaw was 7-5 with a 4.15 earned-run average in 19 appearances. He led the team with 81 strikeouts. Bauer has 2-Year status in the Frontier League.
Cramphin and Bringleson both broke into professional baseball last year with the RiverHawks and have 1-Year status.
Cramphin was 4-4 with a 3.69 ERA in 12 appearances. He had a 2-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Bringleson was 0-5 with a save and a 3.34 ERA in 35 relief appearances. He averaged nearly a strikeout an inning.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
