« Back

November 13, 2007 - A former RiverHawk took part in Illinois' upset victory over Ohio State last weekend.

Bo Flowers, an outfielder-turned-safety, got into the Fightin' Illini's 28-21 win over the top-ranked Buckeyes on special teams and defense. Flowers, who has appeared in all 11 games, has five tackles this season. Illinois is bowl-eligible at 8-3.

Flowers was a two-sport all-stater in high school. The Detroit Tigers drafted him in the fifth round in 2002, then dealt him to the Chicago Cubs in the Kyle Farnsworth trade prior to the 2005 season. He split 2006 in the Frontier League between Windy City and Rockford. He hit .271 with four home runs and 31 RBI in 64 games for the RiverHawks.
