August 28, 2007 - TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Kyle Bradburry hit a go-ahead home run in the second inning and Traverse City beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 6-3.

The last-place Beach Bums, who have beaten the wild card-contending RiverHawks two nights in a row, never trailed. Bradburry’s two-run homer, his first home run since a July trade from Gateway, broke a 1-1 tie. In the sixth inning, RBI singles by Sam Orr and Justin Holmes gave the Bums a four-run margin.

Rockford rallied in the seventh inning on RBI singles by Joe Anthonsen and Jono Brooks to pull within two runs, at 5-3. Rockford left the tying runs stranded in the seventh and didn’t reach base again.

The RiverHawks left seven on base, five in scoring position. They loaded the bases in the top of the sixth with no outs, but failed to score.

Bryan Rembisz (7-0) struck out seven and scattered two runs on six hits for the win. Tyler Meigs struck out two and pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 10th save.

James Cramphin (4-4) struck out six, but gave up five runs, four earned, on seven hits.

The final meeting of the year between the teams is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CDT Wednesday.
