Former big-leaguer to manage Dr.-Lawyer Game

August 14, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Former Chicago Cub Milt Pappas will appear at Road Ranger Stadium as barristers and medics face off at 5 p.m. Saturday in the annual Doctors-Lawyers Game, sponsored by Tuite & Assoc.

The annual event began in 1887 and took a break of more than 11 decades. The winning team donates proceeds to the charity of its choice.

Pappas is the last Cub to throw a no-hitter. He had a 209-164 record in 17 seasons in the majors. Pappas will manage the Doctors.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
