July 29, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Two seldom-used Rockford RiverHawks each had three hits on Sunday as Rockford beat Slippery Rock, 6-1.

Backup first baseman Brandon Cohen had a home run and two doubles in four at-bats and catcher Justus Kimbrough was 3-for-4, in front of 2,049 at Road Ranger Stadium. The RiverHawks outscored the Sliders, 27-4, in a three-game series sweep.

Rockford scored a pair of unearned runs off Nick Tracy in the second inning. Cohen led off with a double to right-center field and later scored on an error. Matt Sauls followed with a RBI groundout.

In the third inning, Cohen hit his sixth home run, a three-run fly over the fence in left-center, to make it 5-0.

Tracy (0-9) gave up six runs on nine hits over seven innings.

Slippery Rock had 11 hits, but stranded eight runners. The Sliders loaded the bases with one out in the fourth inning, but settled for Cy Donald’s run-scoring force play.
