July 17, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Mike Breyman hit a two-out, two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning as the Gateway Grizzlies rallied to beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 7-6, at Road Ranger Stadium.

Matt Hagen hit his team-leading seventh home run for the RiverHawks, who dropped a game below .500 with the end of a four-game winning streak. Gateway snapped a four-game losing streak.

The lead changed hands five times. The Grizzlies scored an unearned run in the top of the third inning. Rockford rallied on a two-run single by Jason James in the fourth inning and Hagen’s two-run homer to left-center field in the fifth inning.

Gateway batted around and scored four runs, two on Charlie Lisk’s single, to take a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning. Matt Sauls singled in the tying run in the seventh. Hagen gave the ‘Hawks their final lead with a two-out RBI single off James Hertel in the eighth.

Jason Baca (4-2) blew the save and took the loss. In the ninth, Stephen Holdren led off with a single and advanced on a sacrifice and a wild pitch. Baca threw a 3-2 fastball to Breyman, who hit his 11th home run, over the fence in right-center.

Hertel (5-1) won in relief. Eric Ridener retired the side in order in the ninth inning to earn his league-leading 15th save.
