June 30, 2007 - CRESTWOOD, Ill. – On a night where one winning streak came to a close, another was extended in record fashion.

Windy City’s 9-0 win over Rockford on Saturday night in Crestwood ended the ‘Hawks nine-game winning streak. With the win, Windy City has now won 12-straight, establishing a team-record for most consecutive wins.

Windy City scored a pair of unearned runs in the second inning after Brad Dutton bobbled a ground ball. Gavin Concepcion’s RBI double to right completed the scoring in the inning, making it a 2-0 game. Concepcion added a two-out RBI double in the fourth and launched his first professional home run to left in the sixth inning. The blast put Windy City in front, 5-0, and chased RiverHawks starter James Cramphin from the game.

Cramphin (0-1) made his professional debut and lasted 5 2/3 innings. He allowed five runs, three of which were earned.

In relief, Luke Haggerty and Roy Bringelson did not allow a run over 1 1/3 innings. Jason James pitched the ninth and allowed four earned runs.

For Windy City, starter Eric Fussell (4-0) picked up the victory tossing eight strong innings. He allowed just six hits and struck out seven. Amos Ramon pitched a perfect ninth inning to finish the game.

The RiverHawks left nine men on base, including six in scoring position. Alhaji Turay, who was activated off the disabled list earlier today, extended his hitting streak to 10-games with a two-out double in the second inning.
