June 23, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks have signed catcher Cory Vanderhook.
Vanderhook, 23, is a former Chicago Cubs farmhand. He hit .283 with no home runs and 11 RBI in 113 at-bats with Mesa of the rookie-level Arizona League last season. Vanderhook has rookie status in the Frontier League.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
