August 22, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are drawing near to big numbers when it comes to drawing fans this season. After 42 home games, the RiverHawks have drawn 99,815 fans. The 185th fan to enter the gate at RiverHawks Stadium for the next home game on Thursday, August 24, will be honored, as will fan number 103, 249. The latter fan will break the club’s attendance record, set last season.

The 100,000th fan will have their seats upgraded to the home plate box section, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, receive selected merchandise from the RiverHawks Team Store, and ignite fireworks during the 7th-inning stretch.

Fans are encouraged to get to the park early for Thursday’s game. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for the game beginning at 7:05.

The record-breaking 103,249th fan will be celebrated as well. That lucky fan will get merchandise from the RiverHawks Team Store, four tickets to the first RiverHawks playoff game of 2006, two miniplans for the 2007 season, and $200 worth of vouchers to the Chicago/Rockford International Airport.

“More than celebrating the individual fans, we are celebrating all of the fans who have made this season a success,” general manager Josh Olerud said. “We want to thank everyone who has come out and supported the RiverHawks in our new stadium.”

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league in its 14th season. Advertising, ticket and suite information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. All games are broadcast live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 – the Hub and online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
