August 7, 2006 - CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The Rockford RiverHawks were simply unable to figure out the pitching of the Chillicothe Paints this season.

The RiverHawks offense managed just three runs total in losing six games to the Paints. They suffered their fourth shutout to Chillicothe on Monday, 3-0.

Paints starter Lavelle Morgan (3-2) gave up just five hits in seven innings of work while striking out nine and walking only one. He was succeeded by Marshall Plouffe who threw a scoreless eighth, and then by Eric Teall, who pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts to pick up his 11th save of the year.

Rockford starter Garrett Bauer (4-4) went seven innings, giving up three runs in the second on RBI singles by Adrian Cantu and Brian Colopy. Another run scored on an error. Bauer struck out three while walking one.

The RiverHawks left nine men on base. Rockford has now lost four games in a row overall after being swept by Chillicothe. This is the first time in team history the RiverHawks have suffered a season sweep.
