July 17, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Monday’s game between the Rockford RiverHawks and the visiting Gateway Grizzlies was suspended because of rain. At the time the game was suspended because of thunderstorms, the RiverHawks led, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.

The teams will play a day-night pseudo-doubleheader Tuesday at RiverHawks Stadium.

The suspended game will be completed at 1 p.m. When the game is resumed, Gateway will have the bases loaded with nobody out. The Grizzlies scored on a Mike Breyman single just before the game was halted. It will be played out to the full nine innings.

Rico Santana and Stephen Holdren had RBI doubles in the first for Rockford.

Tuesday’s regularly scheduled game will begin at 7:05 p.m. and has been reduced to a seven-inning regulation affair.

Gates open at 4 p.m. for the latter game, Danica Patrick/MDA Night. The Indy racing star will be at the park to sign copies of her book, “Danica: Crossing the Line.” The RiverHawks will play in alternate jerseys styled after Patrick’s racing uniform. Proceeds from the postgame jersey auction will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league in its 14th season. Advertising, ticket and suite information is available by calling the box office at (815) 964-2255. All games are broadcast live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 – the Hub and online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
