June 4, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Mike Bidwell’s RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Rockford RiverHawks a 4-3 win over the Washington Wild Things on Sunday at RiverHawks Stadium.

Rockford rallied from two deficits to win, in front of 2,827.

Rico Santana doubled in a run in the Rockford first inning, but Washington retaliated with the first home run ever hit at the new ballpark. Brandon Ketron hit a two-out, two-run homer to left in the second inning to put the Wild Things in front, 2-1. He broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth with a RBI single.

The RiverHawks tied the game in the seventh inning on a two-out RBI infield single from rookie Brad Dutton.

In the 10th, Washington reliever Steve Spragg (0-3) retired the first two hitters, then walked Beau Massey and hit Cory Von Tungeln. Bidwell lined Spragg’s 1-1 pitch into shallow right-center to drive home Massey.

Mike Marksbury (1-0) won in relief for the RiverHawks.

The opening six-game homestand concludes at 7:05 p.m. Monday, when the RiverHawks go for a sweep of the three-game series. On Margarita Monday, margaritas cost just $3.
