May 10, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Breakfast at the ballpark is on the agenda for Friday.

The Rockford RiverHawks and the Rockford Chamber of Commerce will host a Good Morning Rockford event, 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at RiverHawks Stadium, 4503 Interstate Blvd. in Loves Park.

Members of the Rockford business community are invited to tour the new stadium. Members of the team’s front office will be on hand to meet and greet visitors.

Community-relations director Dawn Plock said she anticipates a turnout even larger than the norm for such chamber events.

“I expect a very large crowd and look forward to giving tours,” she said. “I can’t wait to show the place off.”

The RiverHawks will provide free door prizes and continental breakfast.

“We’re coming off of our best week ever in terms of corporate support through advertising,” general manager Josh Olerud said. “I’m looking forward to treating the business community to a sneak peek of our new home.”

The season starts at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 24 at Windy City. Opening Day at RiverHawks Stadium is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 31. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 14th season in 2006.
