RiverHawks sign pitcher

August 16, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are adding an experienced arm to the pitching staff for the final three weeks of the season.

The RiverHawks announced Sunday that they have signed right-hander Tyler Pearson. Pearson, 24, pitched for Ft. Worth in the independent American Association earlier this season. He was 3-1 with a 5.08 earned-run average and a save in 29 relief appearances for the Cats.

Pearson, a third-year pro, has 2-Year status in the Frontier League.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 17th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255.
