July 14, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Washington Wild Things’ Grant Psomas outhit the rest of the Frontier League’s top sluggers on Tuesday to win the All-Star Home Run Derby at Road Ranger Stadium.

Psomas beat Southern Illinois’ Brad Miller, 2-1, in a tiebreaker after each hit two home runs in the final round. Psomas totaled 20 homers over the three-round contest. Miller, a late substitution, knocked 24 out.

Jason James from the host Rockford RiverHawks hit two home runs and did not advance from the first round. The league’s top two home-run hitters at the break, Gateway’s Charlie Lisk (17 home runs) and Florence’s Billy Mottram (16) didn’t move on, either.
