November 7, 2008 - Former Rockford RiverHawk Olmo Rosario is a free agent after an all-star season with the San Francisco Giants' Class AA affiliate.

On Thursday, Rosario exercised his right to free agency as a player with at least six years of minor-league experience. He hit .298 with 11 home runs and 51 RBI for the Giants' Double-A Connecticut affiliate in 2008 and was picked for the Eastern League all-star game.

Rosario played for the RiverHawks in 2004-05 and was an all-star the latter season. He made his professional debut in 2001 in the Tampa Bay organization.
