March 11, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – This season, fans can enjoy discounted rates, great meals and the company of their friends, family and co-workers at a Rockford RiverHawks game this summer.
The RiverHawks announced today their new picnic menu for the 2008 season. Among new menu items are meatball sandwiches, bratwurst and pulled pork.
“We’re happy to announce the new menu,” RiverHawks director of ticketing Brad Sholes said. “These have been some of our most popular items in concessions and it was a natural fit to offer them in our pregame picnics.”
Groups can choose what they eat in the new ala carte picnic packages. Each all-you-can package includes hot dogs. Groups can also choose a combination from the above mentioned items, or from hamburgers, Italian beef, chicken breast, pulled pork and steak. A choice of sides, including salad, chips or pasta salad, are included.
“The new menu puts the choice back in the hands of the fan,” Sholes said. “He has the power to create his own personalized picnic.”
Packages, which include a choice of seating location, start at just $14. Groups are seated together. Other group benefits include discounted seats, a welcome on the public-address system and scoreboard, an opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, an opportunity to sing during the seventh-inning stretch.
Discounts are available for any group of 25 or more. Contact any group-sales representative for information on group theme nights, such as Jimmy Buffett Night, Halloween in June, Scout Night, Splash Day, Military Night, Union Night and Little League Night.
Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
