September 10, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Tanner Watson is the subject of the independent baseball feature in the current issue of Baseball America magazine.
Watson finished the season 11-3 with a 2.17 ERA in 15 appearances for the RiverHawks. He broke Josh Tomsu’s single-season team wins record of 10 and earlier this season broke Tomsu’s career record of 18 wins. Watson is a 23-game winner since the former Seattle farmhand joined the RiverHawks in June 2005.
In addition, in 103 2/3 innings, Watson gave up just 64 hits and 31 walks and struck out 77.
The Watson feature kicks off the indy league notebook in the current issue. Watson is a candidate for the Baseball America Independent League Player of the Year Award.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
