May 23, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The first week of the Rockford RiverHawks’ 2007 season will feature some of the most exciting events the team has ever planned. From Opening Night fireworks to a visit from racing star Danica Patrick , the first four games at Road Ranger Stadium are packed with great entertainment.

The home schedule kicks off at 7:05 p.m. Friday with the premier of both the FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks series and the RiverHawks Fifth Anniversary Logo Lapel Pin Night series. The first 250 through the gate on Opening Night will be treated to a lapel pin featuring a logo used by the team in 2002, courtesy of Mincemoyer Jewelers and Cumulus Radio. An additional 100 will receive day passes to the all-new CoCo Key indoor water resort, located at Clocktower Resort. Following the game, fans will be able to enjoy fireworks, sponsored by FatWallet.com and WIFR-23.

Pregame ceremonies will include a military flyover, a moment of silence in memory of longtime RiverHawks supporter, author and baseball historian Ken Griswold , and ceremonial first pitches from Loves Park mayor Darryl Lindberg and Miss Illinois 2006, Heidi Ekstrom.

On Saturday, Dr Pepper and WTVO sponsor RiverHawks Magnet Schedule Night. The first 5,000 through the gate will be able to schedule their visits to Road Ranger Stadium this summer.

Following a two-game trip to Traverse City, the RiverHawks return home for two games against the Beach Bums. Tuesday features the first Ladies Night of the season.

Patrick will be at RiverHawks Stadium on Wednesday, May 30 for the MDA Danica Patrick Jersey Auction, sponsored by the RiverHawks. The RiverHawks will take the field that night in jerseys modeled after the Roscoe native’s racing suit. Immediately following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off to fans, with proceeds going to the MDA. Patrick will autograph each jersey sold at auction. All games are expected to be sellouts, so advance purchases are highly recommended. Season-ticket buyers will have exclusive access to a VIP area where Patrick will hold a meet-and-greet session.

Standard starting times are 7:05 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 6:05 p.m. Sunday. Single-seat prices start at just $5.

The RiverHawks are the Western Division champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 15th season in 2007. The RiverHawks begin their sixth season on May 23 at Windy City. The home opener is at 7:05 p.m. May 25, when the RiverHawks host Windy City. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. All games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM).
