RiverHawks to host IHSA sectionals Monday

June 4, 2011 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are hosting a pair of Class 4A Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Super Sectional baseball games at Road Ranger Stadium Monday evening.

The first game features Mount Prospect High School and Northbrook (Glenbrook North), and begins at 4:30 p.m. Mount Prospect reached the Super Sectionals by defeating Gurnee (Warren) 7-6 in nine innings in the Barrington Sectional final on Saturday. Northbrook (Glenbrook North) beat Franklin Park-Northlake (Leyden) 15-6 in the Glenview (Glenbrook South) Sectional final Saturday morning.

At 7 p.m., Streamwood High School plays LaGrange (Lyons) in the other Super Sectional. Streamwood won the DeKalb Sectional on Saturday, defeating Cary Grove 2-1. LaGrange (Lyons) beat Glen Ellyn (Glenbard West) 7-2 in the St. Charles (North) Sectional final, also on Saturday.

The winner of each Super Sectional game advances to the State Semifinals in Joliet.
