May 23, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Jake Eigsti hit two of Rockford’s four home runs and Roger Lincoln pitched seven innings without a walk for the decision as the RiverHawks beat Schaumburg, 12-1, Sunday at Road Ranger Stadium.

Rich Austin and Patrick O’Sullivan also homered as the RiverHawks won their third in a row since a loss to the Flyers in their Northern League debut on Thursday.

Eigsti, a shortstop in the New York Mets organization last year, had been hitless for the season until Sunday’s game. He tied the team’s single-game record with home runs in each of his last two at-bats. The last to do so was Caleb Fields, last Sept. 3 at Gateway.

Sunday’s game was the first time this year Schaumburg did not hold a lead. O’Sullivan led off the second inning with a towering blast to left field. Travis Brown tied the score at 1-1 with a two-out RBI single in the Schaumburg third inning.

The RiverHawks turned a tie game into a blowout with six runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh. Kevin House led off the sixth with a triple to right field, his 200th career hit. David Cooper hit a tapper right in front of home plate and beat it out for an infield single. Jason James hit a hard shot off the glove of diving Schaumburg first baseman Joe Nowicki for an infield hit that drove in House with the go-ahead run. Austin, who spent 2002-04 with Rockford in the Frontier League, followed with a three-run homer to center field, his first of the season and 33rd in a RiverHawks uniform.

With two outs in the sixth, Adam Shorsher singled and Eigsti homered to left field. A batter later, Schaumburg starter Brett Harker (0-1) left the game.

Lincoln (1-0) scattered six hits and struck out three. Sixty-six of his 95 pitches were strikes.

The RiverHawks take their first Northern League road trip with a two-game visit to Gary Monday and Tuesday. Both games are scheduled for 11 a.m. starts. The RiverHawks return to Loves Park to play the RailCats at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
