RiverHawks pass 100,000 attendance mark

August 19, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks have passed the 100,000 attendance mark for the fourth year in a row.

The RiverHawks passed the milestone during Saturday’s 4-1 win over Southern Illinois. Through 41 openings, the team has drawn 102,205 fans.

“We’re excited to once again welcome our 100,000th fan into the ballpark for the fourth straight year,” assistant general manager Todd Fulk said. “The continued positive response from both the ticket-buying public and our corporate partners, along with the hard work of our staff, the on-field personnel and ownership, is the reason for our consistent success. We appreciate all the support we’ve had from the Rock River Valley over the years and look forward to the playoffs.”

The RiverHawks have just four home dates left – 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 5:05 p.m. doubleheaders on Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2 – but they include a bobblehead doll giveaway, another “Hawks Go Hollywood Night”, two more Family Nights and Fan Appreciation Night, which includes postgame fireworks. In addition, the Dog Days of Summer and Flood Relief Night, both of which were postponed Sunday, will be rescheduled among the remaining dates.

The RiverHawks drew a franchise-record 115,776 in 47 dates last season.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
