February 19, 2010 - Our latest online poll drew one of the most lopsided votes in the history of RockfordRiverHawks.com. More than three in four voters say admitted steroid user Mark McGwire does not belong in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
One hundred (68 percent) of 146 total voters said McGwire doesn't belong in the Hall after he admitted in January to repeated use of performance-enhancing drugs. Eleven voters (eight percent) said he didn't have the collected body of work to earn enshrinement, regardless of the steroid issue. Thirty-five fans (24 percent) said McGwire belongs in Cooperstown. |
