Former RiverHawk Holdren dealt again
« Back

January 5, 2010 - Former RiverHawk Stephen Holdren is on the move again.

River City acquired the Frontier League All-Star outfielder, along with reliever Derrick Miramontes from Southern Illinois in a trade for first baseman Ernie Banks. It's the third team in less than a year for both Holdren and Banks. Late last season, Holdren was traded from Gateway to the Miners. Banks went from Washington to the Rascals in another deal.

Holdren, a Frontier League All-Star in each of the past three seasons, hit .311 with 20 home runs, and 56 RBI with the Grizzlies and Miners. The 26-year-old has 63 career home runs in the Frontier League, fourth most in league history.

Banks hit .335, fourth in the league, with 24 home runs.
