April 22, 2009 - Detroit edged Chicago in the recent online poll which asked fans to pick the AL Central winner.
Detroit, which finished last in the division last year, took 49 of 131 votes (37 percent). The Sox earned 43 votes (33 percent).
Minnesota, which lost a one-game playoff for the division title to the Sox last year, totaled 18 votes (14 percent). Kansas City totaled 12 votes (9 percent) and Cleveland had nine votes (7 percent). |
