Gateway's Breyman breaks league's all-time hits record
« Back

August 29, 2008 - Gateway veteran Mike Breyman is the Frontier League's new hit king.

Breyman finished 2-for-3 Thursday night, collecting his 449th and 450th career hits as the Grizzlies downed the River City Rascals 8-4 in a rain-shortened five inning game at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.

The career record of 449 hits was previously held by current Kalamazoo Kings manager Fran Riordan.
