March 20, 2008 - Baltimore Orioles manager Dave Trembley announced earlier this week that George Sherrill will be his closer.
Sherrill, who came from Seattle in the Erik Bedard trade over the winter, is a former Evansville Otter. The Mariners had used him primarily as a situational lefty. The promotion arguably makes him the best fantasy baseball prospect ever to come out of the Frontier League. Visit the Orioles site for more. |
