Fans wildly split on predictions for former RiverHawks
« Back

March 7, 2008 - In one of the most widely split polls in the history of the site - which former RiverHawk will reach the major leagues first - fans were completely divided on which player would make the Show.

Lefty reliever Derrick Ellison, in camp with the Chicago Cubs, had a slim plurality - 61 of 344 votes (17.73 percent). Sixty (17.44 percent) predicted that none of the five former 'Hawks currently in major-league organizations would be the first ex-Rockford player to reach the big leagues.

All six options were within six votes of each other. Southpaw Justin Dowdy, with Oakland, drew 57 votes; former ace Tanner Watson, in Mesa with the Cubs, garnered 56 votes.

Fifty-five fans each voted for shortstop Olmo Rosario, who signed with San Francisco last fall, and pitcher Reed Dickert, who caught on with Milwaukee this winter.
