October 24, 2007 - The Evansville Otters announced Tuesday that they have hired Jason Verdugo as their new field manager.

Verdugo, 32, is head baseball coach at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and pitching coach of the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. Verdugo succeeds Jeff Pohl, whose contract as Otters manager was not renewed after the team finished 34-62 in 2007. Verdugo is the third manager the Otters have had in three seasons.
