Poll voters want to feed the croc
« Back

August 22, 2007 - Crikey! Voters in our recent poll would rather feed Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th home-run ball to a crocodile than see it in Cooperstown or at auction.

About 32 percent of 114 voters would like to see Matt Murphy, the Australia-bound fan who caught the ball earlier this month, take it down under with him and feed it to a croc.

Twenty-four percent would like to see Murphy sell it at auction. He announed earlier this week that would be his plan, because of the taxes he would pay on the ball's estimated value had he chosen to hang onto the souvenir.

Nearly 17 percent would like to see the ball given to the Hall of Fame. Eleven percent wanted to see the ball sold to Bonds. Just three total voters wanted Murphy to give the ball to Bonds.
