Danny Almonte, the center of a Little League World Series scandal six years ago, has signed a contract with the Southern Illinois Miners. In 2001, Almonte pitched the first perfect game in the LLWS in a half-century and led the Rolando Paulino All Stars to a third-place finish. Shortly after the end of the LLWS, it was reported that Almonte was 14 years old, two years older than the age limit.
