March 5, 2007 - Former American League Rookie of the Year Joe Charboneau is making another tour of duty in the Frontier League.
"Super Joe" is joining Chillicothe as the team's hitting coach. Charboneau has also been on the staff with the Canton Crocodiles/Washington Wild Things franchise and with the Windy City ThunderBolts. He was the 1980 ROY while with Cleveland.
Two players were dealt in the classic "to be named" fashion. Evansville traded catcher Ricky Clinton to St. Joe of the American Association in exchange for a player to be named later. River City traded shortstop Steve Butler to South Georgia of the brand-new South Coast League in exchange for future considerations.
